Before starting, confirm you have a BDS26. It is a carburetor (constant velocity/vacuum), usually 26mm in diameter.
Controls the fuel level in the bowl. It consists of the float, the needle valve, and the seat. If the fuel level is incorrect, the engine will run too rich (high level) or lean (low level). mikuni bds26 service manual
✅ Only use genuine Mikuni BDS26 diaphragms. Aftermarket “universal” types often have incorrect shore hardness, causing erratic slide rise. Before starting, confirm you have a BDS26
Remove the fuel tank and disconnect throttle/choke cables. Access the internal components by removing the diaphragm cover and float chamber body. the needle valve
to access the main and pilot jets. Ensure the pilot jet is completely clear, as its tiny orifice often clogs with old fuel.
